The corn stands
snow-covered and silent
Dreaming greener days
The cow trods
Pastures of ice and snow
Longing Springtime grass
Beneath barn timbers
Red tractor slumbers
Awaiting weathered hands
The corn awakens
In memories of corded rows
Whispers the farmer home
