Wasted Time

Wandering aimlessly, unfocused and lanquid
Avoiding details, ever-present and sordid
Selfishly wishing the stars into being
Treasuring daydreams as if they had meaning
Envisioning journeys that go on without end
Denying the duties which I should attend

Today, innefably, collides with tomorrow
Interring my dreams in pockets of sorrow
Memories fade, I grow restless and reticent
Endlessly praying for just one more moment

The photo is the Great Sand Dunes National Park near Alamosa, CO. (copyright, Vanillatte, 2007) If you go in the summer, make sure you try to get on the dunes either very early in the morning or later in the evening. The dunes get very hot. They also make a really cool groaning sound due to the vibration of the sand. For more information on 'Booming Dunes': http://waynesword.palomar.edu/ww0704.htm#Booming
