Plum Granny Vs. Pomegranate - Mystery Solved!

My family has had a year-long discussion over the difference between a Plum Granny and a Pomegranate. The mystery was solved this week when my parents were given a Plum Granny. This melon is the fruit that was called a Pomegranate when they were kids. (See my Dad's pic of it below.)

The Pomegranate is a fruit native to the Mediterranian. The Plum Granny is a small, heirloom melon known for its wonderful fragrance. However, the Plum Granny is also known by the names Dudaim, Perfume, Queen Anne Pocket Melon and POMEGRANATE!

Incidentally, the Pomegranate is considered a 'superfruit' and contains high amounts of vitamin C, potassium, fiber and three different types of polyphenols which are believed to help fight cancer and heart disease.

Pomegranate Information

The Plum Granny is very pretty and has a sweet fragrance. Perhaps I should grow some and do away with all those air fresheners!
