Our Emotional Ties to our Team

Well, the big game is over and our team lost. I'm not broke up over it or anything. It is the first time the Saints have won the Super Bowl, so that is a good thing.

The game was fun to watch, we had lots of good chili and nachos to eat. Too much as usual.

The best part was watching the commercials, The Who playing at halftime and listening to the really inane remarks of the commentators (which were actually more amusing than the commercials this year.)

Here are some of my favorites:

Good weather give the best team a better chance to win. This makes no sense to me.

What are the Saints going to do to defend Dallas Clark? Ummm, I don't know, play him close and try to stop him? Isn't that the point?

This is what they have to do; make one move, get two hands on the ball and go forward. Uh, yeah, thought that was the whole idea.

They weren't playing pattycake all week to get ready for this game. Really? I bet they were playing Red Rover, it's a much more physical game that would better prepare them for the rigors of football.

and my personal favorite...

Receivers are very good catching it with their hands. Realllly? I bet that's why they made them receivers!

I did see one of the Saints receivers try to catch it with his face. It just bounced off his helmet. So I think that catching it the hands is definitely the way to go.

That's it! I have to go drown my sorrows in some herbal tea.

Until tomorrow...

I remain tied to the Colts.

p.s. Congratulations Saints on your first Super Bowl victory!
