Strange Cosmetics....

I knew I would one day regret not collecting all that cow manure I used to complain about stepping in. It seems in India they've determined that cow excrement can be used for much more than just fertilizing your crops. Researchers there are drying it and using it in medicine according to ancient Hindu texts. They also claim it is a good facial scrub that can kill bacteria and heal wounds. See here.

I experienced the cow excrement facial scrub one time when my Airedale returned from a romp in the pasture and proceeded to lick my face with his manure-laden beard. Had I known at the time how good it was for my skin, I might not have overreacted so dramatically.

So, you need to read that article carefully. They have plans to use the cow urine and feces in everything from soap to toothpaste and even a soft drink. Wow. I hope they label that one clearly.
